1. At some point in the future...
Fundamentalism will have its own DSM classification.

I hope I live to see it.

is the tipping point. Proof positive as to why we need to keep religion out of politics.

On Edit: A good read. I've supected this for years.

3. Interesting. You know the people who collect cats?
in very large numbers, till the humane society comes after them? That recently got classified as a variant of obsessive-compulsive disorder.

4. I think it's more a case of stupidity and willful ignorance.
Classifying it as a psychological disorder violates fundies' first amendment rights to practice religion as they see fit. I am still reeling from the abuse heaped on me by fundies, but I think they should be allowed to practice religion as long as they don't interfere with politics or other people's lives.

Unfortunately, the idea of "hell" impels them to interfere. Therein lies the conundrum.

6. They sure as hell do. :(
I'm having second--more like 3,854th--thoughts about a friendship I have with a fundy. After promising not to proselytize, he did. He told me I had no hope without Jesus and then denied he'd said it. I'm finding it really hard to forgive him for this.

The exact quote from him, via e-mail: "Regarding the Christian thing, of course I will not force the issue with you. If you are uncomfortable bringing it up because of past experiences and baggage, I would be heartless to bring it up."

He was pretty damn heartless. And I'm still pretty damn pissed.

8. Another fine product (idea) from our neighbors to the North.
He's from Toronto. They're just so darned civilized up there.

Hmmm, ya think Bushy will even let us go if he wins in Nov?

9. I'd like to go where there are fewer fundies.
It's fundyville here.
