"Testimony of a Traitor"
This is disturbing. I'm watching the 1979 tv show Buck Rogers, the abovementioned title of the episode.

Buck gets arrested for treason. Apparently he was involved in a plot to start a pre-emptive military attack against an enemy known only as "the other side", to protect US interests.

What's disturbing is how the charcters involved call Buck a traitor, a madman, and everything else.

With Bush*'s pre-emptive policies, he* is the actual madman. At least by 1979 standards. In 2003 standards, we who were against the war were treated as if we were madmen and traitors.

My, how times have changed.

Of course, they were talking of nuclear weapons in this episode. Firing off all of those at the time would have obliterated the Earth. But with tactical nukes...

WTF happened! How is it that a campy-in-a-bad-way tv show from 1979 have more value and morals than (a) today's tv and (b) the people running this godforsaken country?! (this episode, while horrendously dated in ways, is played fairly straight through, interestingly...)
