We had a memorial Mass yesterday for my abuelito. I got to see lots of family I haven't seen in a while, but my poor Mom--- this isn't a very happy Mother's Day for her. :(

Friday would have been my mom's 70th birthday. I share your pain, their love is irreplaceable.

after my mom passed away (five years ago now) was a sad one for me. She's still very much alive in my mind. The older I get, the more I understand the power of living memory, that someone still alive remembers something or someone. It's when there's no one left alive who still remembers, that it's gone forever.
So your abuelito will remain alive so long as you still remember.

And will tell my children and their children, so that they will remember, too.
