How much will the Iraq war cost your state?

I just found a fascinating website, http://www.nationalpriorities.org , which (among other things) has broken down by state the $87 billion that Bush got from Congress last year for the war and occupation of Iraq. Here's how my homestate is affected:

The $87 billion that Bush requested from Congress last year for the war and occupation of Iraq will cost Connecticut's taxpayers $2.0 billion. If that money were spent in Connecticut, it could pay for:

1) $136.8 million for school construction, resulting in 3,285 new jobs; and

2) 1,651 new affordable housing units, creating 4,043 new jobs; and

3) $351.1 million for local and state roads and bridges, creating 8,516 new jobs; and

4) 6,152 new firefighters; and

5) health care coverage for 102,141 people.

So, how is your state affected?
