As for what I've bought in recent months:
Candi Staton's "Candi" (CD reissue of the 1974 album)
1952: The R&B Hits (3-disc various-artists anthology)
Top Hits of the '90s (The 18-track Rhino collection)

It was probably the first CD I'd bought in years. Typically, I get most of my stuff from Kazaa or Morpheus.

I never thought I'd enjoy anything that was classifiable as "rap". That proved me wrong, and I'm expanding my musical horizons.

Before that, Mogwai -- Come On Die Young. Before that... uh... fuck. Maybe Death Cab for Cutie's Forbidden Love EP.

The Roots - Phrenology
Willie Nelson - The Essential Willie Nelson
Oasis - "Morning Glory"
The 1st 2 were for myself, the last was for my boss. He heard mine and liked it, so I bought him one and gave it to him today.

Senor Coconut-Fiesta Songs Directions in Music-Untitled.
Senor Coconut is great. Seriously great. Everyone needs to listen to this disc (his other two under this moniker ain't half bad either :))
Directions in Music is very very nice and something that's quite rare in recent rock music. It's basically a jam session. This album was done in 3 days back in 1996 and has 8 very nice instrumentals with a very Tortoise-ish (Circa "millions now living...) feel to them. Good stuff to cheer your spirits.
