Why does sunscreen cost $10? |
|
I mean, what could possibly be in there that could make it cost that much? Think I'll be okay if I just use last year's expired sunscreen?

...surely you can find it for a cheaper price at a Dollar General store, or Walmart or something.

4. Even Wal-Mart was $8.99 |
|
Still very expensive and, besides, I'm not going to buy anything there. Haven't found any house brands of sunscreen yet.

2. There's some called No Ad, in the 5-6 dollar range that is excellent. |
|
K-mart or the dollar store might carry it.

5. Another plug for No Ad |
|
I only buy that. Cheaper than the other brands, and VERY effective. My kids & I have never gotten burned or even much of a tan when using it, and we spend hours by and in the pool every summer.

13. I've Seen It Lots of Places |
|
Walmart, Target, Walgreens, (that's where i bought the bottle in my golf bag), Jewell-Osco, and the like. I saw it for the first time at a grocery store in Key West about 10 years ago. Within the next couple of years, i started seeing it in our area.
Since i travel for my job, i've also seen it in Right Aids around Philly and New York, and in supermarkets around Atlanta.
I'm surprised you haven't seen it. I would have thought it was just about everywhere by now. Look for bright color bottles (pink, orange, yellow, blue). I think each SPF value has a different color. They come in pretty large bottles. I'd guess at least 16 oz. The Professor

14. I'll see if I can find it tonight |
|
There's an Eckerd on the way home--maybe they'll have it. The local discount houses and our grocery store definitely don't. I'm heading to Florida in the morning so I NEED sunscreen, but I really don't want to pay a small fortune for it.

3. You don't see the pattern? |
|
Chemical companies pollute the earth, killing the ozone layer, saving money by not being environmentally friendly. Then they sell us over priced products in order to capitalize on the damage they themselves have caused. Sickeningly brilliant.

11. I Use The "Safeway" Sunscreen |
|
I love the labels... the front says "compare to the quality and ingredients of Coppertone" (or words to that effect) --- The the back always has some sort of disclaimer "Coppertone is a registered trademark of the Coppertone Company. This product is not manufactured by Coppertone."
Anyway... it works great for me and at about 1/2 the cost. It smells almost identical to coppertone sunscreen.
