Ladies, gentleman...it's Fancy the Rat!!!



Including Fancy, now we have 2 cats, 2 gerbils, a frog, a lizard and a hermit crab...more to come I'm sure!

1. how well do the cats and gerbils get along with each other? (eom)

3. It's kind of interesting...

Fancy just moved in last night. So far since I have been home I have seen each cat walk veeeeery gingerly up to the cage, keeping a "safe" distance mind you, and the fur on their hackles rises every so slightly. They're still scoping it out.
We've had the gerbils out running around on a chair that one of the cats sits on all the time. They ran all over the cat and she didn't bother with them. The male cat though tries to take bits out of the gerbils sometimes, but they are well cared for.
I think the size of Fancy is taking them off their guard as he's about half their size.
It will prove to be rather entertaining in the coming days I'm sure.

2. Your house sounds like our house!

We have 4 boys, a dog, a cat, 2 birds, 2 fish tanks and a Guinea Pig on the way (our 7 year old wants one for his birthday which is next week. He will be turning 7 and has wanted a GP for about a year. It is now time to cave.) :)

Your Rat is cute as far as rats go. She looks like a "Fancy".

5. Welcome Fancy

My husband and I have 5 rats, 4 fancies and one albino. They make wonderful pets. Mine love to ride on my shoulders and chitter sweet rat nothings in my ears. My 2 year old daughter likes to pet them. Our oldest, a brown and white fancy named Athena, took a chunk of nose out of one my greyhounds who got too close to the cage for her comfort.
