For six years I drove a 40 mpg car (until about six weeks ago) in a state (SC) with some of the lowest gas prices. Now I drive a car that's lucky to get 20 mpg in one of the highest priced states (Ca.). I was paying well under $10 to fill up a few months ago. Yesterday I spent $34 to fill up and it will take me half distance of the old car. It boggles the mind.
I plan to sell my present vehicle in the fall to buy another small car, but I worry that I won't be able to sell the minivan, and that I won't be able to find a good small car, and will pay a lot more for it when I do. (I bought the minvan for the move to Ca.)
If this keeps up, Bushco is deadmeat in Nov. ... oh yeah, they're deadmeat anyway. I have a reason to smile after all. *<]8^)
Oh, those prices are the lowest in my area.

2. I tried to find a nice Geo Metro for sale last week |
|
Even though the last model they made of the Metro is a few years old it seems like people are really clinging to them.
The ones I did find for sale were priced much higher than I expected for a utility vehicle.
Still though, if gas continues to rise, spending $4000 for a Geo that will save $1000 a year in gas starts to look attractive.

to sell every car I have had to sell in California. Craigslist is way handy, a lot of folks use Auto Trader. I bet you'll get someone to get it off your hands.
And as I mentioned somewhere else today, I saw 91 octane at $2.80 in San Francisco last night. Yowza!!

6. In California, did gas taxes go up? |
|
If not, then somebody is robbing y'all blind. Price gouging. x(
If they are, then it's to pay back the big debt that the SIGs helped to create. Davis may or may not have deserved to have been recalled, but if he knew of anything going on, he certainly didn't tell anyone. :-(
