So, what do I call my half-brother's other half-sisters and stepsisters?
These are the daughters of my mom's ex-husband (who is my brother's father) and his wife.

Who have no blood relation to me. I've always wondered what I'm supposed to refer to them as?

Thanks. Hope you're all having a decent night tonight.

1. ooh...
I remember this riddle. I think the answer is "You".

I'm still drawing up the charts and diagrams to try to figure this out, but I think just referring to 'em as "step-siblings" would work, while not being technically accurate.

4. LOL! Thanks for the effort! Step siblings could work, I guess.
Though we never even shared a household. They were all born after my mom and my brother's dad got divorced.

It is certainly a riddle! :P

2. Ummmm...........how about 'half-steps' ? Or you could just call them
Edited on Thu May-20-04 12:34 AM by Dover
by name. Or simply referred to as your extended family of siblings. Families these days are pretty difficult to label or even keep track of...every combination in the book and then some.

11. That could work. . .
We've talked about this a few times together. So far, no one knows. :D

Families are so confusing these days! The study of kinship and descent is gaining new dimensions all the time!

6. Ha, ha.
Yes, I refer to them by their names. I was just wondering, you know, what ARE they exactly in relation to me? :P

9. Now that's interesting. Is that the technical term?
We don't even have a bit of blood in common though... Feh. This is so silly! :silly:

13. I have 3rd cousins somewhere
My dad has an uncle who's younger than he is. We don't talk about that side of the family much. It's like, "Whoo-hoo, life is good! All my teeth are fixed and all the kids are out of jail!"

18. This is a conundrum
I expect that you don't call them anything. They are not actually related to you. Nevertheless you are part of the same expanded family so hopefully you will be able to call them friend.

If you are close though; go ahead and call them sisters.
