Wagner power painter question |
|
I bought a Wagner Power Painter (wide shot) because I have to paint my ceiling. It worked great the first day, but now I literally have to clean it every 30 seconds for it to work. I have tried thinning the paint way down, but even that doesn't seem to help. Any ideas, or is this just another piece of junk?

1. Looks GREAT in the commercials, doesn't it? |

My brother had the same problem. No matter what you do, it voids the warranty.
Paint is paint. It's never easy. Anybody who says it is is trying to cheat you.

2. try" latex conditioner" |
|
it does make the paint flow easier and it may delay drying time enough to keep the sprayer from clogging. i rolled my popcorn ceiling using the stuff and it worked well...

3. Worst $50 I ever spent |
|
I used it to stain my deck. What a piece of crap. I got stain EVERYWHERE, and it was impossible to clean. I would have saved a lot of money, done a hell of a lot better job and probably taken less time if I had just used a roller and brush.

4. My experience with amateur paint sprayers is |
|
they work good, once. After that, they ain't worth a damn.
The moral of the story is buy the cheapest because you will buy another if you ever need one again. And do all your painting in one marathon session.
Oddly enough, the professional paint sprayers work like mad. But they cost in the thousands.
You might try running straight thinner through and leaving it in overnight, and soak the sprayer mechanism in a bucket of thinner overnight.
Good luck, paintings a bear no matter how it's done.

6. Rent a compressor and a spray gun |
|
Flood Floetrol can only do so much for you; a real spray system is much better.
