I'm leaving DU (sorta, in 10 days or so) - ask me anything while you can! |
|
Ok, it's neither by choice or because I'm mad - the Atlanta schools moved up the start of the summer program for alternative-certification types like me to June 1, and I'm going to essentially be gone for a while. (Don't worry, Skinner, I'm going to finish the "major media" section before then. :) ) Besides, it's Friday, I'm avoiding laundry, and I have a Beam-and-coke keeping me company. Political, personal, animal, vegetable, mineral.

1. Ok...which mineral has the chemical formula... |
|
(Mg, Fe)2SiO4?
Hint: It's the first mineral to cool in the Bowen's Reaction Series. ;)

I find myself thinking of predators, interestingly enough.
I guess I'd say wolves, but that's probably the dog thing in me.

Is it even possible to eat wolf? There, two questions for the price of one!

One never knows, though, given the context and a sufficient level of hunger. And I suspect it's entirely possible to do so.

14. A few months back a mountain lion |
|
attacked a women who was mountain biking. Hurt her pretty bad. Lots of cuts and bruises. Almost ripped one side of her face off.
That same lion also killed another man in the same location either that day or a few days before. Saw the young lady on Larry King a few days ago and she looks surprisingly good.

What do I think? I think we're trespassing. I think we have a technological advantage that allows us to do things the long term implications of which we don't even begin to understand.

18. I agree with your analysis. |
|
Whenever someone mentions a wild animal, I hate it when they say 'Just kill them'.
Where else do the animals have to roam now that we built up on their land. I even ain't it when my mom knocks down the spider webs with the broom. They deserve a place to live.
What if some big creature came and was like 'Stupid humans' and knocked down our houses. How would we feel?

19. the answer is in the potentiality of the wood chucked. |
|
We may take, as given, that the woodchuck does not, in point of fact, chuck wood. There is every possibility, however, that what we know as the "woodchuck" will, at some point, evolve into a being capable of chucking wood, and in that eventuality, the moniker "woodchuck" will, at long last, suffice.
As to the quantity of the wood such a woodchuck might chuck given such an eventuality as a woodchuck that could chuck wood, we say not.

It's a corruption of a Native American word "Wejak", meaning evil spirit.

get things under the belt... have a routine... you will find the time to come back and ... gripe about the politics du jour... and I am sure that there will be plenty interesting to comment on per your congressional district and state senate race... I predict we will see you reemerge before the election :D

Over here in Athens, my last day of the school year will be Monday. Although the last school day was Friday, I have to return on Monday to shred teacher records of graduating seniors. With a single page shredder!
