Then, to make matters worse, when I went to pick up the cat from the Vet, I found a tree in my driveway.
Now, the rains coming again!!!!

2. No global warming... nothing to see here... |
|
Just move along... don't pay any attention to the extremes in temperature and precipitation and drought... not to mention the plauge of locusts.
There is no such thing as Global Warming! My uncle Dick swears it!

6. Overflow Into Your Basement? |
|
I almost had that happen once. I just spread a thin layer of silicone on the seals of the basement windows. It got half-way up but not one leak.

My house is too old to have a proper sump drain. So, the water comes right in, and you push it into a drain. Then, the pump sends is out.
Brilliant!!!!!
Not!
That's what you get for signing a mortgage "as is"!!!!
Bitch!!!!

10. Ok, enough with the Global Warming!!!! |
|
Yeah, everything's off the floor. The problem was how fast it came in, and the fact my wife had appendix surgery yesterday, AND I have an 11 month old son.
Just way too much shit in one day.

Do you mean a gravel drain? I plan to do that, but being unemployed with a new baby makes it hard to do.

They make a plastic channel that you can epoxy to the inside wall of your basement wall and run a hose from there. A gravel bed with a drainage hose all along the perimiter with a sump is a optimal solution, but the plastic channel might be an effective short-term/low-cost solution.
