I think I've only heard that word in Craftsmatic commercials.

ON EDIT: I mean, in reference to a "regular bed" as opposed to a Craftmatic adjustable bed.

A train car or tractor trailer for hauling large, uncovered loads is called a "flatbed."

4. It's a type of truck or trailer...that's the only way I've used it.

5. If I am talking about a flatbed pickup, I call it a flatbed...
we have lots of 'em here in Houston... flatbed tractor trailers too.
