The general scratches his belly and thinks...
The general scratches his belly and thinks
His pay is good but his officers stink
Guerilla girl, hard and sweet
A military man would love to meet

The President looks in the mirror and speaks
His shirts are clean but his country reeks
Unpaid bills
In Afghanistan hills

Bombs away
But we're OK
Bombs away
In old Bombay

The general only wants to teach France to dance
His army life doesn't give him any romance
Guerilla girl, hard and sweet
A military man would love to meet

The general scratches his belly and thinks
His pay is good but his company stinks
Guerilla girl, hard and sweet
A military man would love to meet

Bombs away
But we're OK
Bombs away
In old Bombay

7. I almost died at a Police show back in late 1983...
...someone decided to schedule a Police show outdoors in November. A storm blew through and damn near crashed the scaffolding. Sting asked the crowd if we'd catch him if they blew off the stage.

GREAT show, even if the boring UB40 opened. :-)

9. I was lucky enough to catch the Police at the US festival in 82
I was like 12....blaring heat and a great show...

I later found the MP3 for that show and damned if that show wasn't just as good as I remember it...

15. maybe you know...
Does "Zenyatta Mondatta" mean anything?

There was an earler thread today about concerts and I forgot to list the Police. I slept really late today, and hadn't had much caffeine. I saw them two or three times, plus Sting once, and almost caught them in Tuscaloosa at the Bama Theater on their "Stolen Equipment Tour." :)

19. Hey, that's interesting!
Outlandos D'Amour -- I was thinking something like "Crazy Love."

Reggatta De Blanc -- I was thinking "White Boat" or something. ;)

Thanks, that's an interesting page to read!

10. I wish you did (for your sake)
:)

I saw Sting on 60 Minutes II not long ago. I forget the exact figures, but from "every breath you take," Sting makes something like $80,000 in royalties -- per day.

11. Funny that song is played at so many weddings
Which is scary - its a song about a stalker!

13. Hmm, never really thought of it like that
But you're right now that I think about it.

(Bomb's Away is so appropriate for today, the guys ought to re-record it, but Sting has turned into such an arrogant prick...)

16. I saw the Police twice!
Although I can't remember the dates, '82 and '83 perhaps? Once in Detroit and once in Kentucky? God, I have to stop drinking.
