A thought about tanning
In the future once genetics get a bit more advanced people will surely be able to manipulate their body's output of melanin and since there seems such a preoccupation with tanning won't it be interesting to see what the average skin tone will end up being once all people are able to control their skin color so they can darken and lighten.

1. I laugh about tanning
since it is white skinned people who vie to be the most tanned-and yet some of those very same people are ones who shun 'brown people' as being 'inferior'. Just an observation.

And a warning-skin cancer, especially in very light skinned people, is very real and can be deadly. Keep on sunscreen this summer.

2. Some of us think pallor is sexy
It's not just for Goths anymore, y'know!

My parents used to have a tanning salon business. I could never understand the practice. Besides, even tanning bed lights can cause melanomas.

Nope, my favorite skin colors on a Caucasian run from whitish white to reddish pink.

3. Even black people can get skin cancer
And the other main problem with tanning is that it actually ages your skin, so that as you get older you're going to be a lot more wrinkled than you should be - think of a rubber band left out in the sun for too long, it falls apart - the collagen fibers of the skin are like the rubber band, they lose their elasticity from too much sun exposure.

4. Tanning is a joke
It serves no purpose whatsoever. Many women have ruined their skin. Those tanning freckles and bumps are unattractive, ladies.

I'm betting Geena Davis stays out of the sun. Her skin is beautiful.
