On-line stores/shops - info needed |
|
Many of you probably know I've designed and started selling some fun pro-Kerry stickers, but I just want ot know how easy or feasible it is to set up a small Web site to handle sales. I know some HTML code (and can learn the rest) and have a domain name in mind that hasn't been spoken for yet.
What's a good, low-cost server for a small on-line shop for selling a few sticker designs and assorted stuff? Any info is appreciated.

2. I'm setting up some stores/shopping carts |

But I'm using PHP to do it. There are some packages out there that will do a shopping cart for you, but I wanted to re-invent the wheel as a learning process.
If you're going to take credit cards over the web, you'll need to have the forms where the customers enter their credit card numbers on a secure socket layer.
You might check out powweb.com. They offer PHP, databases, SSLs, etc. for under 8 bucks a month.
