When I was a homeowner it used to annoy me when our trees got damaged. (We lost 2 plum trees, a redbud, and a bradford pear one year to storms).
Now that I live in an apartment, they don't bother me.

We don't get them here. There was a kick ass one in NYC last weekend when we were there.

3. Most romantic weather phenomona imaginable. |

Great to cuddle during a thunderstorm, with the booms, the lightning, the staccata on the roof. Leaving the windows open is nice, too.

7. These storms are one of the |
|
reasons I will not move away from here. Our new house plans include a tower (supposed to look like a grain silo) to observe storms. We just got one whopping alert on the TV. I have never seen such an announcement, BIG CAPS with very specific mention about tornados and high risk stuff. It feels very oppressive out there but not "severe" yet. I too LOVE storms.

out for a ride yesterday. We drove into the middle of a horrid storm with the low hanging, swirling, cloud masses and I was about ready to bolt for the nearest ditch. I have nightmares about them stemming from back when I was a child...
Don't ask about the camping trip we took with just a flimsy tent between us and shrieking wind and hail last year. :hi:

It's strange, but I miss living in hurricane territory. I don't know how to explain it. There's something awesome about them.

When I was still in junior high and my brother was in college we would go storm chasing here in Nebraska when ever we could. It use to piss my mom off to no end. My husband yells at me to get my butt in the house when ever I run around our yard during a storm. I can't help it, I am a complete water sign that feels renewed when I can get soaked running around in a wild thunder storm.
