HELP!!! Post your sure-fire *earworm* cures here!! |
|
I have had the Dead Kennedys "Chicken Farm" in my head for 2 solid weeks. NOTHING is helping...not listening to the song, not listening to something else. I wake up in the morning with it in my head, and even as I sit here now, it's playing away in my cranium.
Seriously, help before I spray Raid in my ears or something...

if I'm gonna go that route, I always use "Everything's Coming Up Roses" (Ethel Merman styleeee)...man, that usually cures ANYTHING. :D

3. I can sometimes distract myself mentally... |
|
It doesn't always work (I always have earworms at home, and can't do squat to get rid of them -- you know who I blame for that), but sometimes at work I can get rid of them by complaining to my co-workers (make the worm contagious), or, worst-case scenario, doing math.
I am not a math person. But for some reason, doing really tedious math resets my brain. (Tedious = adding up a whole bunch of numbers, converting a number from one base to another, figuring out how much money I have left in my freelancer budget, etc.)
Good luck.

I dunno, I want to stop hearing the song, I don't want to melt my brain completely...:dunce:
:D
Thanks though, if I get desperate enough I'll certainly try it. :hi:

5. Police On My Back by the Clash beats almost anything |
|
Of course then you'll be headbanging to the Clash for the next few days, but still.

to listen to this song (Chicken Farm) and not have it stuck for ages...but I mean, sheesh! I've been doing this to myself for what...15 years now? Do I not learn?!
Clearly, I do not. ;)
Some Clash might be tasty right about now, actually...

Very nice! :D
Problem is, how does one avoid them, since you don't know upon first listen that the damn thing is gonna bore itself into your skull for the remainder of your natural life??!!

11. I don't think there's any way to avoid them |

Unless you tragically become deaf. I guess the second you hear something potentially addictive, just slap your hands over your ears and do the "la la la la la" routine.

No more music threads for Fenris.
Although I dig your list. Paul's Boutique is possibly the greatest rap record ever.

I guarantee you, only really really GOOD embalming techniques will stop that one ringing in a corpse's ears after death! That song is NASSSSTY!

Well, CRAP... now *I*'m singin' it!
Hmmm-hmmm-hmm-hmmm, Hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm-hmmmmmmmmm!
