Are there any Weather Spotters here? |
|
Has anyone here had training as a weather spotter? Do you have an official number?

I could do it. California coastal living is easy. Here comes sun! Here comes fog! Here comes sun! Here comes fog. Repeat ad infinitum.

But I did know enough to run like hell the day 23 tornados were "rambunctious" in my City.

here in southern Jefferson County, OH. Report to NWS office in Pittsburgh.
There's been lots of severe weather around here in the past week. Very bad storm went through here early last Friday morning, much lightning, hail, high winds, and heavy rain. Here at my location we picked up 1.25" of rain in a 45 minute period. A microburst did heavy damage to a neighborhood near Wheeling, WV that morning.
Check the website for your local office of the NWS, many have the training schedule for observers posted there.
