Who else enjoys the smell of a new book?
I just got Gore Vidal’s new book and I continued my hidden from public view tradition of opening up to random pages to get that new book smell. Please tell me I’m not the only freak who enjoys the smell of a new book. :silly:

1. That's my favorite smell...
I love going through the book store, smelling books. It drives my wife crazy, but what the hell!! She married me even though she knew that I was weird.

2. I love the smell of an old book better.
Especially an old Penguin paperback. :9

3. I love the smell of my recently purchased Childcraft books
circa 1949. They smell exactly like the ones I had as a child!

4. mmm, Penguin
I agree, and was going to post that - I love old books - I am, at the moment, surrounded by a few thousand. Penguins are good, but I prefer the Evergreen imprint.

5. I love everything about books.
That's why I have thousands, and 14 floor to ceiling bookcases in my house...

6. I do
my father worked in book printing, on a press, and when he came home from work he would smell like the ink ... that's part of that new book smell.

I can go back to childhood with that smell ... hugging dad when he came home, with my face pressed into his white t-shirt, smelling that ink smell.
