digital cameras - suggestions ?
Can anyone recommend a digital camera that's inexpensive yet takes okay pictures?

LOL. And by inexpensive I mean less than $100. I'm a college student.

If you could post a sample picture, that would be great.

Digital cameras that take good pictures in places where the lighting isn't all that great would be much appreciated.. since it's going to be in my room mostly, and it's not incredibly well lit.

Thank you!

2. you might want to consider a reconditioned one.
I love my olympus C-5000 but it's out of your range.

the factory reconditioned ones tend to work pretty well, and you can usually get an extended warranty up to 90 days later.

Best,

Pcat

At $104 (plus shipping, maybe $12) this is a good price for a camera with optical zoom (which also means better optics). I have one and like it. You can use the internal memory and get an SD card later. I used another Kodak refurb for years, never had any problems.

Tigerdirect is an ok vendor.

You could also try ebay. I would suggest something in the 2 megapixel range with an optical zoom from a major manufacturer. A Canon would be nice but in your price range, I don't know. In my experience, cameras without an optical zoom just don't focus as well. But if you can't afford optical zoom, get a camera from a major manufacturer with less pixels instead of an off brand with more.

www.computergeeks.com doesn't have any real deals right now, but they do have some decent deals on cameras from time to time.

You can check www.salescircular.com for sales in your area. Nothing hot right now, but with a good rebate, sales can be the best price that you will find. Maybe the holiday weekend will bring some good sales.

5. There are few cameras in that Price range

My only idea would be the the Fuji A 205. It often sells under $100 and is OK.
Nothing great, nothing fancy, not state-of-the-art, but it makes OK pictures - a simple digital Snap'n Shoot camera.

Edit: I had mixed up 210 and 205.

6. Yea, a nice choice.
You can walk into Best Buy and pick one up with a 16MB xD card for $100 plus tax. xD is a more expensive than SD, but in this price range you can't be too picky. The A205 can be had a little more cheaply over the internet but not from any vendors that I am familar with.

Best Buy is also offering free shipping, but might charge you tax on an internet sale.

8. So you can. I forgot about A205 -- 2.0MP doesn't cut it though.
If you only want 4x6s... A205 is fine.

7. This is the best deal I have found

If you can manage to part with the bread until the rebates come back.I'm still waiting on mine, but it is early yet.
