W.Va. Town to Have Empty Election Ballot
NEW MARTINSVILLE, W.Va. - The expiration of a deadline for write-in candidates to register for Littleton's upcoming municipal election means the ballot will remain unchanged — and empty — on June 8.

No elected officials are seeking re-election, and none of the town's 217 residents have filed to fill their positions.

"The Secretary of State's Office told us we still have to hold an election," said City Recorder Kelley Phillips.

The town's charter of 1890 requires an election of a mayor, recorder and five council members every two years.

1. It's the perfect election.
Gotta love it. :)

You know, my little town has cancelled elections in the past when there were exactly enough candidates to fill the open positions. Seems like a reasonable piece of legislation, and plus I believe we saved $500 every time.
