Hot damn! Really? I'm not self righteous about it but I avoid such IMO infotainment Reality TV programing ... um like the plague. The best decision I made was to sign up for extended digital cable: History International, Do It Yourself Network and News World International rank best in my Reality TV viewing schedule. :-)

I think people who make sweeping statements based on other people's entertainment choices are really fucking stupid. Judgmental much? I semi-watched the show, off and on, and whatever words people may use to describe me, "stupid" is not one of them.

I know the show is stupid and most of the singers suck and the ones that deserve to win never do (this year it shoulda been Latoya London, with Fantasia a close second, IMO) It's a singing contest. Lighten the fuck up. I'm a musician who works with singers, so perhaps I could be said to have a professional interest, but still. I also like disaster movies. So what! "People who watch that show are really fucking stupid?" Whatever.

I thought it was fascinating. It is amazing to see young people under that much stress.

Seriously, to make it through that media barrage is quite impressive. These are normal people who suddenly have millions of eyes on them week after week after week.

I also like the judging - particularly Simon and Randy, although Paula is so-so. They seem to be quite honest when judging the competitors.

Good for Fantasia. She is a 19 year old single mom from NC who seems totally for real to me.

For those that say the show sucks, the talent sucks: I dare you to go in front of millions of people for many weeks straight trying your best at something... then give us your opinion.

Sure, its fox, and its way played out, but deep down inside, these are real people. From the human side of things, it is a fascinating phenomenon, no doubt.
