*sigh* sometimes I hate being a geek |
|
So I've been BEGGING for months to get approval from my spouse to buy a tivo. I give the list of reasons, I point out every time we miss a show "Damn we need TIVO. . ."
Anyway, I WON! The TIVO is sitting in my car waiting for me to get home and install it. . .
Well, my mother calls me 2 hours after the purchase, all freaked out cause her computer is spyware infested and I have to come fix it.
I know, I could be a cold heartless bitch and say "MOM it is TIVO setup night, sorry" but the worse news is that I am going out of town this weekend so I wont even get to enjoy the darn machine til Tuesday!

If you were a REAL geek, you could have your mom's machine fixed in about 15 min., get back, install the TIVO, fire it up, and still have time left over to play a few rounds of D&D.....

5. Sometimes you have to be the cold, heartless bitch. |
|
But that's hard to do with mom. I've had to limit my free tech support to family and close friends.

9. I even have a T-shirt that says, |
|
"No, I will NOT fix your computer."
However, it's a lie - I end up fixing everyone's computer. I was at the Subaru dealer buying a goddam car and ended up helping them get the software that ran their sign outside working on their crappy old computer. :wtf:
