1. I think it would easier to translate a * speech from
"moran" to "English".

3. Fewer than 2 outs + runners in force positions + pop up = batter is out.
What's so hard to understand?

5. But is the batter automatically out?
Even if the fielder drops the ball accidentally?

Seems a little silly, unless it's a Red Sox batter, of course. ;)

9. Too bad for the Red Soxs there is no infield lazy-ground-ball-rule.

13. Keeps the Infielders honest
The infielder could "accidently" drop it thereby getting a double play.

4. When in the infield, make sure you're fly is not open.
It could get embarrassing with TV cameras all over.

10. How do you get to third base without opening your fly?

7. There is actually a law review article on the infield fly rule
I think that it is from the University of Pittsburgh. It is one of the funniest things that I have ever seen in a law review. I am going to have to find that law review article now.

8. I can see their point
For surely it could be deemed to be a "Restraint of Trade" if a batter is given out before he is actually out, if indeed that is the rule.

Now I'm really foncused. :silly:
