My 7 year old son just said "I wish I was black"
Mom and I: (nodding apprreciatively) "oh yeah?"

Son: (looking at arm) "hey, part of me IS black!"

Mom: "Honey, that's dirt"

Son: "Oh."

Mom and I: LOLOLOL

3. Well, tell him that
being black doesn't protect you from sunburn at all, that's a myth!

4. when my son was ~4 in daycare he came home and
announced that there was a new boy at school and that he was brown and tall. I thought that was so sweet. Very few people could really be called 'black', and he was telling us what he remembered about the new boy.

7. Yeah, before today, my son didn't know
What the term "black" was AFAIK. An african american friend of his just said to him: "my whole family is black, exept my mom" We were discussing this when he told us about his wish.
