modern gangster flicks...Goodfellas....
I think this has to be one of the best gangster flicks out there.

I grew up in a Chicago neighborhood in the 1960s that was alot like the world depicted in Goodfellas, and I think this movie really rings true.....

I love Scorcese, love gangster movies--and this film was the best!

Wiseguy. by Nicholas Pileggi

it's a good read, and i was happy when they made the movie.

also- if you haven't seen Casino, you gotta see that one too- it even has a chicago connection, with joe pesci playing a character based on one of the spilotro bros.

Scorsese just knows how to make ganster films.

Sharon Stone was actually rather good in Casino.
