1. Tossup
I've done both. They both suck. Bad.

2. me too, both suck
currently going through a job hunt and a dental implant (to replace a root canal gone bad) at the same time. Downright depressing.

3. Why do I feel like I'm defending
Edited on Fri May-28-04 07:40 PM by teryang
...a criminal record when it's only a resume?

Why were you unemployed for three months in 1991? Why have you been unemployed for the last four months?

Did you ever notice how the positive attitude people go completely negative when they are looking for a reason not to hire you, even though they know you're the best person for the job because....

a) you belong to a minority
b) you're over fifty
c) you earned "too much" at your last job
d) organization policy requires that you be hired at 20,000 more a year than the kid straight out of college with no experience.
e) your resume and your demeanor doesn't demonstrate sufficient fervor or vocation for the new position. As if after being laid off two, three or more times over the course of a career, you're supposed to be committed because "it's more than a just a job."

6. I hate jobhunting too
Luckily, I have a job but I really want to leave and get something better. I always take things so personally when I don't end up getting a job that I want. I also get frustrated when I could get a job that sounds great but pays much less than someone should get paid for a position like that. I'd rather be jobhunting right now though. It's temporarily on hold because my husband injured his knee and has to wait a few weeks to see if he needs surgery. I hold the insurance and obviously in this situation we cannot afford to be without it or purchase private insurance considering his condition.
