So tonight on the way home, I make the rounds of the thrift stores (2 of 'em) First one, no joy, same kid's BMX and gaspipe 10-speeds that were there when I scored the Panasonic DX-2000 on Monday....Go crosstown and...
JACKPOT!!!
Raleigh "Super Grand Prix", 64 cm frame (finally! something that I don't have to play stem extender bingo with!) 700C wheels, Shimano "Bar-Con" shifters, the frame has a sticker on it that says "Tour de France Team Winner 1977" and "Made in England".
That's right, a NOTTINGHAM Raleigh!
Price?
$10.99

Okay, more like "You Da Bicyclist" but that's a great deal!
I have a whole storage unit full of stuff I am going to (try to) sell in two weeks. I have a 27" color TV "with all the fixin's" I'm going to be unloading. How much do you think I can get for it? It was $400 new.

TV's really depreciate. A lot would depend on the brand. Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Sony, all good, higher resale value.
GE, RCA, Proscan, Thomson, Bad reps for going into the shop, especially the RCA CTC-series chassis. if you paid $400 new, might be able to get $50-$75 out of it, unless it's 10 years old or older.
Any other brand, like Emerson, Goldstar, Daewoo, etc., you'd be hassle ahead to give it to the thrift store.
