I went to Ronnieland midweek, to shop at the Jewel. I saw the oddest thing in the parking lot over there -- odd for ronnieland, anyway.
Some young guy in a pickup had his whole back window full of homemade signs. They said things like, "Four more years of Bush? Ruined economy, more wars...etc., etc., I wondered if he had been in a parade or demonstration.
Anyway, things are looking good if you see signs like that in ronnieland! I gave him a big thumbs up when I walked by his pickup. I hope he did not think I was giving him the finger. He had little kids with him.
I am going to Wisconsin tomorrow. It better not rain!

Sort of a negative reinforcement thing until the travels stop.

13. Oh, so it was YOU who did it... |

I drove to the farmers market in Madison -- I left my house at 6:15 a.m., cloudy but no rain at all. I got there at 7:15, and the very second I stepped out of the car it began pouring. It didn't stop until I got home around 10:30 (it was on and off the rest of the day).
One vendor did tell me that all this rain we've had in the last few weeks has been hell on foraged crops -- the morel and ramp crop have been dismal (I was hoping to get some of each, but found neither at any booth). I guess it's hard to forage for mushrooms when the area's completely flooded.
I did get some asparagus, bread, cheese, spinach, trout, radishes, sausage and pie, so all was not lost.
