Need advice re: salon etiquette. |
|
I've been going to someone who is fabulous, both cut and color. Absolutely the best stylist I've ever been to. Last week she left a message to call her cell when I need to make an appointment, because she'd changed salons. She didn't say which salon it was, only the area it is in, and only left her cell #. I really want to continue going to her, but now I have no way of getting a hold of her because the message got erased before I wrote the number down.
Should I call her old salon and ask if they know where she relocated to? I don't want to offend, since I will most likely be going back to them if I can't find out where my stylist went to. I've been going there for years.
Not a painful dilemma, to be sure, but I just don't want to come off as rude.

1. Ask yourself this question: |
|
Is having a stylist you know and trust more important, or less important, than possibly looking like a doofus for calling the hair salon looking for her?
If it were me, I'd be calling and finding out where she went. A hair stylit you can trust is hard to find, and it's fairly standard procedure that a salon knows they're gonna lose a number of any stylist's customers when they leave.

I was leaning towards that. Thanks, I'll definitely call them, and hope they'll tell me. They are so hard to find, which is why I can't believe I was so careless to lose her number....

2. A phone call might not help, though |

Don't be surprised if the old salon won't tell you where she went. Pretty typical. You might make an appointment (just for styling or something) at the old salon and try to chat the info out of one of her former co-workers. Worked for me.
