This thread is to give a big-ass Lounge howdy and THANK YOU to one of my newest favorite DUers (not to mention her husband and her friends, who have literally NO IDEA what they’re getting into in agreeing to have me around). Come Monday, I’ll be steering the bus Eastward towards the beach, where it will be my great pleasure (or possibly the beginning of my new life as a love slave) to make the acquaintance of these fine, fine folks.

You see, DU is not just about discussing politics with frothing mouths agape, and hating each other for who we support in the Democratic presidential primary. It’s a community - a veritable “village,” if you will - of wonderful, wonderful freaks, hippies, geeks, bizarros and other assorted mixed nuts. I, for one, wish to thank Skinner and crew, from the bottom of my shriveled little heart, for giving us this superlative virtual hangout place in which to meet the greatest (if often also the filthiest) liberal minds the world has to offer.

Now, sap aside, thanks again, my anonymous slaver, for inviting me, and I hope you guys have a safe trip down. I will look forward to gettin’ wasted with ya’ Monday night. Warm up the hot tub for me, if you will, and don’t forget to bring your DU password – the poor and pitiable that we leave behind will need to hear stories of our adventures in stupor. It’ll be a morale boost.

Oh, and I was just kidding about not talking with your mouth full. Really – won’t bother me a bit. Not nearly as much as the cattle prod, anyway. ;-)
