My former roommate is going to Iraq :( |
|
Got a call from him last night. He was my roommate 3 years ago, from August to December 2001. Had just taken his bar exam, and had signed up for the army in August (they would pay all his outstanding law school loans for 6 years of service). He had previously been in the army before he had started college, so went back in as an officer. He's shipping out to Iraq in 2 weeks. What in the hell do they need a lawyer over there for? He cannot say where he is going or what he will be doing over there. I'm thinking he is probably going over to deal with the prison torture mess.
I begged him not to enlist when he did 3 years ago. That was just before 9/11. He was almost sent to Afghanistan when that war started. Guess his luck ran out this time. :(
Please keep Tim the army lawyer in your thoughts and prayers (if you believe in that kinda thing). Thanks.

1. A friend's nephew is with some legal unit in Iraq, too. |

I guess they need a JAG corps everywhere there are service members.
Good luck to everyone serving around the world.

2. Received e-mail from son.... |
|
on his way to Iraq (carrier). They've been without water, no toilet paper, and not enough beds to accomodate all sailors. He suggests, we contact our Senators and file a complaint. Well, he's a bush lover, let him wipe his butt with his hands. Sorry Son!
