Why can't I meet a woman who looks exactly like Louise Brooks... |
|
Edited on Sun Jun-13-04 04:42 PM by CanuckAmok
...can sing perfect mezzo-soprano, has her own satisfying career and interests, understands the importance of the 'Brazillian wax', can rebuild a Stromberg carb with a hairpin and some gum, knows both when to visit and when to leave, is confident, witty, sensible, owns no jeans, has several pairs of stilettos, and who has the sex drive of a rutting rhino?
Is that too much to ask?!
Do I need to move to Seattle for this?
on edit: I mean the way Loiuse Brooks looked in her prime, not right now.

What can you offer her in fair exchange for all these virtues? Hmmm?
After all, she may be wondering:
"Why can't I meet a man who looks exactly like Cary Grant...
...can sing perfect baritone, has his own satisfying career and interests, understands the importance of trimming nose and ear hair, can cook a dinner for 12 with what's already in the fridge, knows both when to visit and when to leave, is confident, witty, sensible, owns no baggy pants, has several pairs of black leather boots, and who can cuddle all night long?
Is that too much to ask?

11. Hmm... 6 out of 10 ain't bad... |
|
My mezzo-soprano's a little rusty these days; ain't no wax (especially not of the Brasilian variety) touching my body; I don't do mechanical stuff; and I only own two pairs of jeans (I prefer cargos and camos) and no stilettos (which I can't walk in anyway) -- but OTOH, I do NOT own a mundane-clothes skirt nor a dress... :)
Move to Seattle anyway. Maybe that'll get AlienGirl to stop sending me "spooky waves of Seattleness." Besides which, she'll fix you up...as soon as I can fix her up with David Malmo-Levine... ;-) (Sorry, everythingxen!)

12. Beauty's only skin deep, but superficiality's to the bone. |
|
Beats me why not. Are you a prize yourself?
I guarantee ya she's out there, though...

14. Ms. Brooks had no use for the 'Brazilian wax' |
|
Thus no woman without a prominant triangle could look 'exactly' like Louise Brooks. (Judging from her Ziegfeld nudes it seems that, Charlie Chaplin aside, not everyone in the 1920s was an aspiring pedophile.)
