Poll question: Will computers and high tech transform humans into higher beings? |
|
Edited on Tue Jun-15-04 11:45 AM by BurtWorm
I remember not so long ago when Usenet and on-line magazines were full of talk about how computers and interconnectivity were going to make human beings and human society evolve into something transcendant of "humanness." These same "theorists" held that Michael Jackson was a symbol of "transhumanity"--the new self-creative being we would all become in the wake of dot-com-munism.
I never bought it. This utopia looks even more remote to me now. How about y'all?
