and they still haven't given me a computer for my "office" (aka cubicle).
Very odd. After all, I'm supposed to be a software engineer.
Maybe they'll get around to it tomorrow if I'm lucky. :-)

EDIT: Of course, the worst thing about this is that I can't engage in my favorite work-time activity of reading DU during my breaks. ;-)

Got the computer on Monday, a phone on Wednesday, and was officially put on the computer network today. My job is helping maintain web sites, but I had to work on copies of the files because I couldn't get into the actual server. But now that I'm on the network, I can play CDs, and I was able to download RealAudio so I can listen to AirAmerica during the day. Now if they'll just decide whose departmental budget I belong to so I can order some supplies. P.S. My cube is built around a beam!

So what do you do all day if you don't have a computer? I hope you get one tomorrow. I hope you are enjoying yourself.

I've probably gotten 2 weeks of background reading done in the last few days.

5. That was my thought too ! |

as we pay his billing rate while he stares at the empty desk. A senior programmer-analyst I know waited three months for a 'puter and then left that gig in a hurry shortly thereafter - can you say fraudulent contracting practices or just plain poor planning???? You just can't believe a word they say anymore - in such a hurry to hire for this BIG project - ahem....
