"You're Watching The Science Channel. That's Right... The Science Channel" |
|
"... we've changed our look and changed our name..."
Good lord! I get it! I know! Enough already! (LOL!)
It's been the "Science Channel" for over a year now hasn't it? How much longer will they keep running that same tag line and self-promotion spot letting us know about their "new" name change from "Discovery Science"?
Just wondering.

1. Let's just hope they're a little more accurate than the history channel |
|
Aren't they owned by the same conglomerate? I get really frustrated sometimes with all the omissions and "perspective" that passes for fact on the history channel.

... that's noticed and that I'm not the only one that's annoyed by it.

5. To be fair(ish), Time Warner's only recently gotten around to changing |
|
the onscreen channel IDs from Discovery Science to Science Channel (say, the last six months or so) and it's possible I suppose that other cable companies are even less competent than Time Warner (hey, almost ANYthing's possible), so there is some small rationale for this, even after all this time. But still...

... but it's not something I pay a lot of attention to. I tend to let my DVR do all the channel changing and auto-recording for preset themes and keywords. So I'm usually plucking things from pre-recorded digital basket of stuff I'm interested in.
I'm pretty sure that the on-screen guide for DirecTV has the current logo.
Your rationale makes sense in trying to explain their rationale (if that's even the correct word for whatever it is that THEY are thinking.)
Thanks for your words of comfort, empathy and understanding on this deeply troubling issue. As you can see, it's been weighing heavy on me for ages, and I'm just now trying to lighten my emotional load.

most television programs (and I guess stations) are aimed at those with a intellectual age of twelve. I would have thought the "Science Channel" would give more respect to their viewers.
sigh.
