Advice to couples, if you are about to have a fight - go for a long run. |
|
I can't tell you how many nasty disagreements my husband and I have worked through because we are daily runners and have managed to run out our difficulties on the trail. It starts off we aren't speaking. Then about mile 3 we may grunt a few things to each other - then by mile 4 one of us will initiate a conciliatory phrase or two as we are nearing the end and beginning to feel that "end of run" mellowness coming up. By the time we get to mile 6 (or 7 if we are really testy) we are like "Do you want a hot or cold Starbucks?" and are able to laugh and "hi five" at the end. It has never failed us and we are married 24 years.

6. Until the time you bring a pipe wrench and bury him in the wilderness |

:D
But running is a *great* way to chase away the clutter in your head, and that clutter often causes or exacerbates an argument. I totally agree.
