Favorite protein/meal replacement bar? |
|
I'm quite fond of Detour bars. They taste quite a lot like Snickers, especially since they are the only sugar I have. (I don't count them as recreational sugar like cakes or cookies.)

Most are pretty good to great, but beware the lemon. (Just my personal take.)

10. another vote for Luna bars, but they discontinued my favorites |

I can't eat chocolate at all and I liked their key lime pie and orange ones (both gone now). Not many energy bar people make non-chocolate ones.
But now they've got me hooked on dulce de leche. :loveya:

are the only ones with the right serving of protein, plus a hefty dose of fiber. I like the chocolate peanut butter ones. :9
edit: I've begun experimenting with various lemon-flavored bars too.

7. well, if you are on Atkins, they seem better than nothing... |

but, in reality, they really do have the consistency and flavor of cardboard...(although I do still sort of like their cinnamon breakfast bars). I'm told there are some new flavors out so perhaps they have improved. The Carb Solutions bars are a bit better I think.

13. 'sort of think all the low carb bars do....either ar or saw dust.... |
|
Seems that if they can make low carb ice cream taste so (relatively) good, they could do a better job with the meal replacement bars....

...but the Odwalla bars are pretty good. I like them since they're baked real food (grains, fruit, nuts ,etc) not some nightmare of heavily processed extruded goop with lots of pre-digested ("hydrolyzed") meat and glycerin. There are a few others like the Odwalla ones but the names escape me.

4. Advant Edge Chocolate Brownie |

Low-carb similar to Atkins, but less cost and in my opinion, they taste better too. I usually just grab one of these for breakfast. 25 grams of protein.

Also Clif bars (especially chocolate brownie) and Power Bar Harvest. Some others, too, but those are probably my favorites of the many I've tried.
