I am having a hard time trying to figure out what to cook for dinner. I have an entire cupboard filled with cookbooks, but am bored with them all. My 4 year old refuses to eat just about everything. I am lucky if he will eat a hot dog or cheese pizza. It is getting really frustrating.
I am thinking about getting one of the 30 minute meal books by Rachel Ray. I would also like a Tex Mex/Fresh Mex cookbook. Do any of you have any suggestions for a cook book for everyday cooking?
:)

1. Great Vegetarian Dishes |
|
The author used to have a show on PBS about Indian cooking ... I have hundreds of vegetarian cookbooks because my local "hippy market" had a fire and gave away all their cookbooks because they had "minor smoke damage" ... "Great Vegetarian Dishes" is my favorite ... here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0959365915/104-4098379-7610310?v=glance

i used to love cooking. years of cooking for 5 kids absolutely killed the fun. my mind goes numb when i think about food now. if you have only one, feed him kraft mac and cheese, and cook for yourself.

4. Would you believe he hates mac and cheese? |
|
I mean, what kid hates mac and cheese.
Even cooking for my husband and myself is getting boring. I feel like trying new things.

5. Any Moosewood Cookbook - absolutely the best vegetarian |
|
cookbooks on the market. They've been bestsellers for over twenty years and they have lots of regional recipes.
PS before you buy any book search google for moosewood recipes and recipes from other books that are suggested. Try some recipes and see which book has the dishes most to your taste.

11. "Sundays at the Moosewood Restaurant" is my favorite |

And I'm not even a vegetarian. Every recipe in that has turned out perfect. There are plenty of fish recipes, and those that involve cheese in that cookbook.

He's becoming a bit overmarketed, but he really does explain the intricacies of Mexican regional cooking. http://www.fronterakitchens.com/

the middle child is so freakin picky. she is 17, and eats greek salads and mangoes, and a couple of other things, period. she was always a middle child kind of child. whatever the other kids liked, she didn't like.
but if you don't have any james beard cookbooks, get some. "the new james beard" is fabulous. "theory and practice of good cooking" is more instrucitonal, but is full of basic, tried and true recipes.

12. Cook Your Meals the Lazy Way. |
