HAHAHAHA, good call. Yes, it gets better with every reading. That is one of the most quotable books ever. The movie did a fairly good job of getting some of the insane dialog and banter, but nothing compares to the insanity in the book.

10. I hate Hanson but for reasons other than their music

Because I live in Tulsa, and I use ICQ, I used to get at least two 12-year-old girls from Brazil (of all places) bothering me each week about Hanson. At first I would tell them that Hanson doesn't live here anymore, and I actually tried to convince one girl (unsuccessfully) not to come to Tulsa - she was from a rich family and was being sent to America to learn English, and her father was letting her pick the city, and she wanted Tulsa because of Hanson.

Really. I'm 17, and have been to three hanson shows and can tell you most of us (who are 18+, typically) treat the little girls that come like crap because they and their mothers are so annoying, and they only come because hanson's "hot" and they want to hear them sing mmmbop (which most of us CAN'T STAND TO LISTEN TO).

26. They've come a long way...

I hated MmmmmBop, but their latest release is quite impressive. From what I understand, one of the biggest indie releases of all time. Something like 37K copies on the first day.

I'm from Tulsa, and I can remember when they'd have to play outside some of the bars on Brookside because they couldn't get in.

Careful, the older Hanson fans really tend to be mean to the littler girls. the last Hanson concert I went to in March, some punk girl with tattoos and a plaid skirt was bitching out this little girl because she was screaming "TAYLOR I LOVE YOU" too much. ;)

I am driving to Lancaster to see them, but it's worth it. you guys will have fun if you don't run into the nastier fans. :)

She's not a HUGE fan, but she does like them. She's not the kind that would yell that, though. (not yet anyway.) We took her to see Fleetwood Mac last summer. She loved it.

I had no idea Hanson had punk fans.

Yeah, hanson has some pretty random fans. Last time I was in line with a girl whose last concerts included Marilyn Manson and Godsmack. Then there was one girl who would not stop talking about The Clash and Bad Religion. I think it's because when we were all younger teens we liked Hanson a little too much, then our musical tastes changed but we still kept holding on to the fact they might release another record.

As for me, I like a lot of different music including stuff like 60s music. I think a lot of people just appreciate good harmonies and good songwriting and bands who kind of don't follow the Britney Spears and NSYNC pattern. They make catchy songs, but they do it in a different way.
