3. He just needs more exercise

I have a pug too. His name is Buddha. Pretty much he would eat 24/7 if given the chance. I've realized that it's not the amount of food that pleases him but the frequency so I feed him less treats and snacks but he thinks it's more often. We give him treats when he goes potty outside so now he hustles us by waiting by the door to pretend he has to go but really he just wants treats.

We don't have a yard so he and our chihuahua get chunky sometimes. Try to find a fenced park where doggies can do a lot of running.

Most importantly though are you aware of pug.meetup.com ? Once a month, pugs and their people all over the country get together and play in parks and stuff. Go to that website and check out the group in your area. Chasing other dogs really gets the weight off. Plus, nothing is more fun than watching a dozen or so pugs play.
