RANT: I am sick and tired of having freakishly small feet!!!
My feet are men's size 7 narrow.

Do you know how hard it is to find shoes that fit me?

For work-appropriate shoes, I must travel to an outlet mall that has a huge selection, or else find a style I like, and ask the store to order it in my size and come back later for it (and some stores won't accomodate my requests).

However, I recently discovered that women's size 8 fits me just fine, and for certain styles/brands, there is no discernable difference between women's styles and men's, except for the size listed.

So now, when I buy athletic shoes, I don't have to settle for the one ugly pair of men's size 7 in stock, if I don't mind being a cross-dresser...

1. That's not freakishly small. I wear girls' size 4 and boys' size 3
I get little kids' shoes as often as I can (cheaper!), but I look pretty silly as a woman in my 40s wearing Power Puff Girls shoes from Payless.

17. I thought I had tiny feet
Catzies, your feet are smaller than mine! :D

I'm 5' even and wear a 6.5 B width.

I don't have trouble finding shoes. What I really like is the wide width cheapie tennis shoes from Payless. They fit beautifully.

23. Yeah, like TxLib mentioned, "work appropriate" shoes can be tough
to find sometimes.

If it wasn't for Payless I'd be barefoot. :D

5. This is disgusting
I don't mind you having a filthy "alternative lifestyle." I mean, I'm a liberal and all, but Holy Cheney, man, did you have to be so GRAPHIC? I'm knee-deep in vomit after reading about your deformed feet and your brushes with transvestism. Sometimes children read this board. Won't you PLEASE think of the children?!?

7. Narrow feet are tough, esp. for men
My husband wears an 11 narrow and has a tough time finding shoes, too. Once he gets a pair he likes, he makes those puppies LAST.

Have you tried Rockports? I don't know if they go down to size 7, but they do have a lot of narrows and you can get them online.

9. What my feet lack in length, they make up for in width
I wear womens 5.5 D - can't find em. Most often, I have to go up to 6.5 depending on the cut of the shoe. Sometimes I can make a 6 stretch to fit. I can find wide width shoes in the catalogs for older ladies, but never smaller than a 6. For some reason unknown to me, a 6 wide is most often too big and sloppy on my feet For casual shoes and some sandals, I hunt through the boy's section for a nice size 4.

I feel your pain, brother.

10. Well hey, I have freakishly large feet.
I wear a size 10, which pretty much puts me in the boating section of any store I am in. It isn't fun. I feel your pain. :hi:

P.S. Sometimes I squuueeeezzze myself into a 9 1/2 because I like the style.

20. Old joke:
Lady goes to podiatrist complaining of constant foot pain.
He tells her she's wearing shoes at least 2 sizes too small.
"Well, I wear an 8, but 7s look so good, so I buy a 6."

13. Short, wide feet is not a picnic either.
I end up having to buy most shoes 1/2 size too big to accomodate. Some athletic shoe companies (thank goodness for New Balance) have a wide variety of widths available in most normal retail outlets. But for work shoes, I end up having to buy 1/2 size bigger...so, it's not AS bad, but still no picnic.

14. birkenstocks are the key
I have the same problem and I got birkenstocks. I figure that since Jesus would be a liberal, the type of shoe he wore is good enough for me.

24. Expensive shoes are their own reward
Allen-Edmonds are cheaper in the long haul if you are looking for work appropriate. You can order from the catalog in almost any size.

Best part about A-Es is you can send them back to the factory for a complete refurbishing and they are good for another 5 years.

You can also buy used Allen-Edmonds on eBay. Sounds uncomfortable and creepy, right? Well, send them in for refurbishing ($80-90 or so) and then you have a pair that will remold to your feet (cork in the sole just like Birkenstocks) and be good for five years of everyday wear.

Did I mention I like Allen-Edmonds?
