Not looking for anything in return, I am a bit on the quiet side here but I read DU voraciously. Way too many hours a day for my own good. Not a criticism at all, just a commentary on how addicting this site is in the run up to the most important election in our lifetime, maybe in the country's history.

No, I'm not quitting, just headed on vacation. I'll have this laptop but by Saturday it will do me little good. Gonna be in the family cabin on our small island in Ontario. My personal eden, but no phone, no electricity, no DU! whaaaa, whaaa.

You all just keep on keepin on, hold down the fort and thanks to everyone! Give yourselves a pat on the back for being the best and most informative message board on the net!!

What I am most concerned about is missing whatever may come down next week in the Plame case, the "shift in the tectonic plates" that may be occurring.

no phone sounds great. Need Electricity, but no phone sounds good(again). And a small island in Ontario, Lake of the Woods? We used to have a cabin up there and it's beautiful up there. Water so clear you can literally see fish swimming around. Take care and c ya when you come back.

Ain't it a beautiful place? If you remember the old Hamm's beer ad campaign "From the land of sky blue waters," the pictures and video from that was taken in our bay near Sioux Narrows.

Don't need no stinkin electricity. We have flashlights and transistor radios, and a propane tank that heat the water, runs the fridge and stove/oven and some lights. Composting toilet indoors so we are all set.

Water is clear, air is clear, surrounded by nature.......

damn, can't wait, but if I could have DU, it would be perfect!

9. DU cold turkey is hard

had computer problems a couple of months back. Was w/o DU 4 a week. I felt so lost and un-informed. Realized how much I relied, and still do rely, on the internet 4 ALL my news. It has become my security blanket......after a fashion.

Your vacation spot sounds beautiful - enjoy.
