that whenever somebody points out that there may be another way to think of an issue, the response from people who've been jerks is to "lighten up".

But....

I see nothing wrong with pointing out that the standard joke about male rape is worth a little deeper attention. The idea that male rape is funny is outdated. Why not consider that for a split second before turning it around as MY problem?
