Poll question: Worst Superman movie?
Edited on Wed Jul-07-04 08:12 PM by HypnoToad
I:

No real downsides though Warner Bros changed the sound effects in the DVD release (that sound like Windows 98 effects...)

II:

Worst part? Not enough action with the baddies.

III:

The comedy

IV:

Remake of II

The upcoming remake:

It's a remake, what can you expect? :-)

5. All of them

The first hour or so of I is great, but then Lex Luthor and his assistants show up and we're stuck with a bad Mel Brooks film. Points are also deducted for the copout ending (flying backwards through time, my ass).

II has a great storyline and decent villains, but is also undone by a reset-button ending.

III is a crotchkick for fans of Kal-El and Richard Pryor alike, but the entire "Superman goes bad" sequence is worth catching if it comes on TV.

Worst of all, IV starts with a tremendous premise ("What if Superman got a wild hair and got rid of all the nukes on Earth?") and proceeds to ignore it for two hours.

I'm not worried about the new movie, though. Warners has spent almost a decade trying to get it off the ground, but all the talent approached for it eventually backs away like it was that garage-sale couch that you were on the verge of buying until you saw bugs crawling out of it.

6. The remake would have been good
If Warner Bros. had left in the more than capable hands of Kevin Smith. The man knows comics, even has his own comic shop. I'm surprised he isn't the default superhero flick director.

THIS IS GREAT, GREAT STUFF. debonair Captain America and Mexican Wrestler face off against piss-poor, well-connected, evil, sadistic Spider-Man! funniest thing i've read in months.

here's a screen capture to pique your curiosity
