I want to give up my life! |
|
I'm sick of this country! I'm sick of corrupt corporations and how we can't escape their control! I'm sick of trying to keep up with bills and trying to "better myself" with a "career!" I want to do real work for a living! I want physical labor, the way men are ment to work! Not sitting in a stuffy office all day! I want to get my hands dirty! I want to come home from work and feel a tangible sense of accomplishment! I want to do all that and get paid a living wage!
I wish i could give up my life and move to an island or a small community. I would grow a garden and trade my crop with my neighbors.....Nevermind.....I'm just ranting on......but i can still dream......

Physical work keeps the body healthy. 25 years of computers and corporate mentality has crippled my soul.
I want to do what you said and be in a community that encourages people to like each other. We live in a world that encourages people to betray each other.

10. Computers Aren't So Bad, What Do You Think DU Runs On? |

> Physical work keeps the body healthy.
So does physical play. Possibly more so, since one can vary the kind of activity more, and avoid overstressing/injuring any one area.
> 25 years of computers and corporate mentality has crippled my soul.
It doesn't have to be that way. Computers have been very liberating for me.
If the "corporate mentality" where you work is crippling, then you are working for the wrong people.
> I want to do what you said and be in a community that encourages > people to like each other.
That's one of the reasons I like to hang out with the ravers. Another is that dancing all night is a lot of fun and very good exercise.

There are lots of people living their dreams. There are lots of intentional communities like you describe... And always a need for physical labor.
The world is your oyster, go claim it!
(And go watch "What the Bleep Do we Know?" It is really mind expanding as far as talking about how we create the realities and possibilities in our lives.)

I'll hire you. Long hot days, physical labor and a decent wage. But alas, it is Florida.

or, stay where you are and wash dishes.
but then again, it wouldnt pay for your house, car, and kids college, would it? sometimes pushing papers doesnt look so bad when you put it in perspective.
