I'm beginning to wonder...

1. it'll happen
but I'll bet he hits a million first.

Part of the problem now is that he's got such a huge advantage. His experience means he's no longer nervous, and he's got his timing on the buzzer down cold.

2. I am too
Maybe he'll quit when he reaches $1 million?

I'm sure there is someone who can beat him. I used to think I was good at Jeopardy, but then he came on.

Although, I've known some final Jeopardy answers that he didn't. His game seems to be to rack up so much money in the first two rounds so that it doesn't matter at the end whether he's right or wrong.

4. C'mon
He has already lost! What you are watching are taped programs.

6. I think they should have a special tournament:
I can hear Johnny Gilbert now:

This is the Jeopardy! "We Had Our Asses Whupped by Ken Jennings" Tournament!

10. Un-effing-believable
Imagine if I said, "one can only tkae so much of grinning Japanese teeth," or "one can only take so much of Black kinky hair." Un-effing-beliveable. I guess Mormons are an okay target group?

12. Heavens to Mergatroid.
I should have known better than to use a personal joke, never shared outside my family -- except with a Mormon I dated -- on a board where the sphincter police outnumber those with a sense of humor. So sorry.

No offense was intended. I doubt that'll be good enough for you, but it's good enough for me.

13. Sphincter police?
So make an offensive joke and then just write it off as you have a sense of humor and anyone who takes offense is "sphincter police?" Next time, don't be offense. Why mention the guy's religion at all?

16. No. You must've missed the part where I wrote "no offense was intended"
and however much you try to read in intended offense, it's not there. I have already apologized. I'm not going to do it again.

I am not responsible for another's reaction to who I am, and this joke, believe it or not, is a small but integral part of me. This tooth joke has a very, very long history. It would bore this community to tears to hear it, and honestly, I don't need to explain myself. I have said no offense was intended and that ought to be good enough.

I am not going to change who I am because someone might be offended by it. You may as well join freepers in trying to force me back into the closet.

Why did I mention the guy's religion? Possibly because it seems that neither Jennings nor Trebek can get through a show without mentioning it themselves.

Since you're so upset about my post, why don't you alert on it?

18. Sure looks Mormon to me...

And besides, he's the one who plays up his "Mormoncy":

Jennings, who in last night's airing admitted that "being a nerd really pays off sometimes," is the first contestant to go on a long winning streak since the show scrapped its former five-day limit on appearances. Jennings, the father of a 1-year-old who plans to donate 10 percent of his winnings to the Mormon church, looks a little like a benign Alfred E. Newman. He is a veteran of high school and college quiz shows and edits questions for national quiz bowl competitions.

8. I'm sure he hasn't yet made as much as Trebec does
It would be neat if he hit the million mark, but I think he's going to fade right around there (before or after).

He's not just winning, he's dominating, show after show after show.

He is quite impressive.

15. He's playing on home field now
He has popped a question or two off that I have been impressed by but he also has guessed at some no brainers. He has the clicker (which is key) down and everyone is playing against his lack of fear of losing and momentum/confidence. It is apparent. The guy last night was really close until Ken ran the comic book category and it was pretty much over.

19. Still He Dominated That Game
Remember that in either 18 or 19 of the days, he COULD NOT LOSE in final jeopardy. That's dominant.

17. He said something "radical" in one of the first shows
Trebeck said "So you aren't into the business side of it?" referrring to computer programming

Ken Jennings said "No after the revolution we will do away with them (business types)"

That, having won so much money, he was now in favour of Bush's tax cuts.

I think we may have a liberal Mormon here.

27. That's The One!!!
I heard that one, too! I think he said something like "I finally have a reason to support the Bush tax cuts" or something like that.

My wife and i both had our jaws drop when he said that. Thanks, Laz for reminding me. I couldn't think of what it was he had said that caused that reaction for us.

22. NAQT question writer
Ken Jennings is also a writer of questions for the NAQT (a national college bowl/quizz bowl organization) and participated in academic challenge and quizz bowls. My son just competed in the NAQT national tournament. The quiz bowl people are all rooting for Ken.

It will be interesting to see how far he goes. He will lose at some point. Jeopardy tapes five shows a day and my son has noticed that on some shows, Ken seems tired. We have speculated that these may be the fourth or fifth shows taped on that day and of course the guy would be tired.

28. What's the tape delay for the show?
Is it done the day we see it, or weeks before?

I can't even watch anymore. I'm tired of rooting for the poor losers. And, heck, the only reason I watch it is because it's fun to see how many questions I can answer.

What I really want is for them to get rid of Trebek (sp?). He's gotten so bloody annoying over the years.
