5. I have two local papers...
I have two local newspapers: Tucson Citizen and the Arizona Daily Star. At least those are the two most popular. We also have the Arizona Republic...but rarely does anyone read it. :headbang:

14. Arkansas Democrat Gazette
It used to be two papers The Democrat (conservative) and The Gazette (liberal). Gazette went tits up and merged.

It's now pretty conservative, but basically even handed in reporting. It prints Krugman as well as Krauthammer. And it regularly takes on the repuke gov, Mike Schmuckabee (catfish).

22. Spartanburg Herald Journal
It is a Times publication, a pos not fit to wrap fish in. I currently have a LTTE in their hands defending F-911, using the list of lies that Will Pitt provided from the 2003 SOTU. They claim they cannot find the text of said speech on the internet!(for fact check) I googled it up in 20 seconds and I'm a half bright luddite. Arrrgh!

29. We have a few here in the Milwaukee Area
Mine is the Wauwatosa News-Times. It's a syndicate and has a conservative bent to it.

The local rag is the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinal. Pathetic excuse for a big-city daily.

Then there is the Shepherd-Express, a free progressive independant weekly.

A new one here is called Vital Source and is a nice progressive monthly.

and my favorite weekly, The Onion...

32. Ugh.
I lived in Va Beach for about a year, and the paper was awful. Full of typos, mostly devoid of any real news. My mother teaches journalism and writing, and used to amuse herself by sitting with the Pilot and picking out all the spelling/grammatical errors.

The Richmond Times Disgrace in my local rag (or Dispatch, whatever you want to call it), but we have some local weeklies such has Style Weekly and the Richmond Free Press (if that's even around anymore).

Punchline was the best local weekly ever, though (if there's a fellow Richmonder anywhere in here, I'm sure they can vouch for that), but it went bankrupt sometime last year.
