1. Hmm...I have eaten it as both entree and side dish.
It's not just for breakfast anymore.

2. I prefer Macs
I just can't see "Windows and Cheese " even though in my opinion, Windows is cheesey.

5. Can be either
But it should be from scratch, not a box. My favorite way was how my mom used to do it. After mixing the noodles and cheese sauce, she would add bits of tomato and pour it into a glass baking dish. Then, she would brown it until it had a crispy top. Yum!!!

6. Yes, Virginia, there IS decent instant mac and cheese.
Annie's Organic makes pretty tasty microwavable mac and cheese. They make a stove-top version that is good, too.

Of course, last time my mom made mac and cheese, it was Kraft. :D

Here's his stove-top version which I haven't tried, but sounds good.

11. definitely a main dish
It's just such an extremely nutrient-dense food. With all that protein, calcium, fat, and carbohydrate, it seems awfully rich to be served beside some other main dish.

14. It's a progression
When a Child, it's a side dish, because Mom knows that you can't live on Kraft

When a teenager, student, in your 20's, it's a main dish 'cause it's cheap. However, it is exceptionally nasty when it is vomited up with beer.

In your 30's and up, it's a side dish made with Atkins Friendly Soy Macaroni and CheeeseStuff(TM)

15. In Canada, it's a friggin feast!
They sell it as Kraft Dinner instead of Kraft Mac & Cheese. Weird.

16. Canadians and KD
Fun fact: Canadians eat more Kraft Dinner per capita than any other country in the world.

Do you get the 'Gotta be KD' commercials in the States?

17. Nah. We don't call it "KD"
Mostly the commercials are of ruddy-faced kids enjoying their Mac & Cheese like it was their last meal on earth.

19. Our ads typically feature...
college kids going to extreme to eat their KD. It is frequently cooked in the engine compartment of car. (after tasting it - "It needs another 5 miles")etc.
